Tokyo Denmark Sweden – When It Breaks

Kudos for this superb band name first: Tokyo Denmark Sweden. Just read it once again. Tokyo Denmark Sweden.

There’s already so much in it: the Japanese’s love for technology and shrillness coming together in the megacity of Tokyo with its skyscrapers and crowded streets combined and counteracted by the Scandinavian idea of simplicity and calmness. Do you already get an idea how their music sounds like? If not, just imagine a Dragonette feature by the The Hundred In The Hands and you might get the picture.

Formed in late 2011 Tokyo Denmark Sweden are rising fast from newcomers to indie dance favourites. They just have released their self titled debut EP, which features “Little Quarters”and their recent single “Lights Off” (which is my personal favorite) together with ”When It Breaks”, “Paper Sails” and “Comets”, all of which add up to a strong snapshot of the band.
