Milano Sun – Vertigo

Sometimes I think we’re caught in an Australian-Swedish universe. Maybe someday we’ll have to do a deeper research why so much amazing music comes from these two countries, but not today. Today I’ll present you Johan Jonasson (vocals, guitar), Love Sivik (Bass, Guitar) and David Axelsson (vocals, guitar, keys) from Gothenburg (Sweden) who decided to form a band in 2010. Not their worst decision at all, I think.

The three guys, who all  had long connections within the Swedish music scene (e.g. as session musicians to for the fabulous “Fibes, Oh Fibes!“), met on a trip around Europe, decided to start their own project and called it “Milano Sun” – on a bench in one of the parks of Milan, as far as the story goes.

During 2011 they started to record an album, which they are still working on. “Already Gone” was a first single which was released in December 2011. Now, with “Vertigo”, they bring us a second track and their first video, too.

“Vertigo” comes with a Jean-Michel Jarre-like synth intro and a catchy west coast-inspired hook line Christopher Cross would be proud of. Get in your car, drive on the next highway and play it loud!

PS: Is it just me or is the hook line almost the same as in Olivia Newton John’s “Let’s get physical” … ?
