The Monochrome Set – I Can’t Control My Feet, Mein Kapitan!

Andy Warhol loved this band, and so can you:

Bid, Lester, Andy & Co have just picked up the brush where the last great incarnation of the Monochrome Set had dropped it in 1985 – after world domination plans with the grandiose and slicker approach on album number 4 “The Lost Weekend” fell through – nontheless thereby completing a stunning quartet of masterpieces (including “Strange Boutique”, “Love Zombies” and “Eligible Bachelors”). On their brand new contribution “Platinum Coils” they again sustain their singular western swing-ey jingle-jangle surf sound, dwarfing any comparism to merely an approximation. Imagine your dandy art teacher and his indian prince friend exploring the world on their off weekends comme The Velvet Underground riding into Westworld on a lazy sunny afternoon …
